HAINAN · CHINA
AN ISLAND
WITHIN AN ISLAND.
01A DIFFERENT KIND OF TROPICAL
Deep within
the mountain green.
Set in Hainan’s mountain rainforest, Jade Island has a quieter rhythm than the coast—green, sheltered, with warm winters and tempered summers.
The Society presents Hainan as a place young people may reasonably imagine returning to—bringing friendship, knowledge and a serious idea with them.
TRAVEL / HAINAN
A different way
into China.
Hainan has a regional 30-day visa-free entry policy for ordinary-passport holders from 61 countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Russia, Ukraine and Mexico.
For some international families, this makes Hainan unusually accessible. Eligibility depends on nationality, route and purpose of travel, and current rules should always be confirmed before booking.

02JADE ISLAND
The world
draws closer.
At the heart of Jade Island, a private lake and secluded island create a world of their own. Within this setting, three private villas give eighteen members—six based in China and twelve from around the world—a more human scale for ten days of shared life.
The value of the place lies in what it makes possible: repeated encounters, unhurried evenings and a feeling that the wider world has briefly become small enough to know.
THREE VILLAS / EIGHTEEN MEMBERS
A place for
shared life.
The villas offer a comfortable base for meals, conversation and rest. They support the life of the Society without becoming its subject.

A REASON TO RETURN
Arrive for ten days.
Leave with a longer horizon.
The island is a beginning, not the proposition itself. What matters is whether members leave able to see one another—and Hainan—as part of their future.
